MISMEC Areas & Objectives

MisMec’s focus is to increase competitiveness and contribute to job creation among SMEs in or linked to the Mechatronics sector (Mechanics, Electronics and Information Technology) by developing new working practices for European network players that will encourage SMEs to participate in the 6th Framework Programme (FP6).

MisMec prioritised FP6 thematic areas:

• IST – Information Society Technologies

  NMP – Nano-technologies and nano-sciences, knowledge-based functional materials, new production processes and devise

  A&S – Aeronautics and Space

  Sust Dev – Sustainable Development, Global Change and Eco-systems.

The MisMec targets during a period of 3 years (2004-2006)are:

To assist at least 270 SMEs leading to participation in at least 70 FP6 project proposals, of which:

• 230 SMEs will participate in 50 proposal submissions to new and on-going IPs and NoE

  40 SMEs will participate in 20 proposal submissions under other instruments

To develop working practices that will encourage and facilitate networking and increase services provided by European intermediaries working with participation of SMEs in FP6
